hello friends im new here i have a b16 freshly built with eagle rods acl race bearing wiseco pistons 3 main girdle the whole block is arp bolted and studded cometic head gasket. head fresh from the machine shop. to much to list. anyways started her up ran great for about 650 miles had minor issue where it started missin thought maybe to low on fuel got back and she started right up drove fine for another 200 miles then started the same thing died and wont start. im getting 45 to 50 psi to the fuel rail. i have 150+ for compression in each cylinder and im getting spark. after it was ice cold it did start again for about 5 minutes it was running and sounded healthy then lumped out and died. will not start anymore???????????? i dont know wat else to check any ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks

pulls no codes. i will check the spark plugs themselves they are new but that doesnt mean some arent bad. i plugged a spark tester into all the boots and spark was good. its a 00 si but its a b16a swap boosted. i will pull pipe off intake and spray some in and try it.

wat do you mean by pickup? it doesnt fire on starting fluid either ive been starting to think its the dizzy.

Click the Codes link in my signature. When you turn the key from off to ON(II), does the CEL turn on and then turn off after 2 seconds ?

yea it does come on just like that. so i will say it works. i was getting really weak spark thought maybe that was issue put msd cap and rotor with external blaster coil now im getting no spark at all. im getting power to the coil.

Spark should be bright bluish white. Get the MSD crap off of that car.

see if your ground wire is tight on the thermostat housing, i had that with my swap, cranked and cranked, had fuel and spark but wouldn't fire...the ground is right under the dizzy to the left

well i think its the whole distributor i have ordered new one will let you guys know wat happens but as the testing got further the spark got weaker and now theres almost none at all so if it wasnt my original problem it is now. tested with and without msd.

the problem first occured with the stock dizzy then tried msd still didnt work. got new stock dizzy and she fired right up no problems. then she ran for about 80 miles and quit out again and wouldnt start again. tried to fire it up today and she started right up ran for about 10 minutes and died then 10 minutes later i started it again and it started ran for about 3 minutes and died now it wont start. im so lost is there anything that would short and kill engine like O2 or alternator or anything else. instead of just pulling a code like its bad?
