Re: '00 Civic Si vs. Integra shocks (#65)
If you're asking about OEM shocks, they won't fit right in the rear. The integra rear LCAs are a good bit thicker, so the "fork" part of the rear shocks will be too wide. I know with Tokicos, they provide a spacer for use on the newer 6th gen Civics, while being able to sell the same rear shock for 5th (similar to the Integra) and 6th gen. Civics.
As for it being worth it, the Si's spring rates are very similar to those on the Integra, so I would suspect the valving will be very similar, as well. Probably not worth the effort. Konis are an extremely nice option.

integra shocks DO fit in the SI.
the front ones won't fit because the SI front control arm is totally different

Dude, the front shocks mount to the shock fork on both cars in the same exact way. What does the front lower control arms have to do with that?

The A fork on the SI is wider.

ok so to simplify, the fronts bolt right up no problems, all day long.
in the rear, you need to add a few washers to the shock fork since the teg one's a bit iwder than the ek one.
I'm totally sure of this, btw.

But the shock still mounts to the fork in EXACTLY the same fashion. I don't know why the fork being wider matters.

That's the rears, not the fronts. He's claiming that the fronts are not interchangable.
Eh...doesn't matter that much to me. I don't need Integra shocks, since my Koni Sports do a great job.

most shock manuf. have the same application for eg/ek/dc's for the fronts. the p/n for eg/ek/dc are the same for the front for AGX's. the rear p/n for the eg, and dc are the same, but the ek has a different p/n as the fork that mounts to the lca is narrower

I know this. He's talking about the front fork being different, and that doesn't matter.

I'm speaking from experience.
I tried to fit integra shocks on my SI, and they DID NOT fit in the front.
Right now i'm driving on integra shocks in the rear without any modifications done.

Are they stock or aftermarket?
I can see why everyone else doubts you cause I've always heard/read that the 92-95 and the 96-00 have different rear shocks but the integra ones fit on the 92-95.
So I'm a bit confused too. Can anyone else confirm what he is claiming?

Well I was speaking from experience too.
I've put integra shocks on 6th gens on more than one occasion and have had no problems regarding the front shocks.
And in the rear, the shock fork is wider for the teg, so to remove any play you'd need to add a washer or two. If you didn't, yours may be kind of loose.
