Default 00 civic ex D16Y8 -- maintenance questions

car: 2000 civic ex 2-door 5-speed
Motor: D16Y8

Got my baby girl 2 weeks ago and now im going to do the first maintenance overhaul. I want to do Oil/Filter with an oil flush, Transmission fluid, Breaks and Rotors,Re-Charge the AC , swap all fuses to brand thew ones, Coolant flush/ replace, and spark plugs.

Questions are:
1. 5w-30 mobil 1 full synthetic and the mobil 1 gold filter, is thier anything else i should go with?

2. what transmission/gear fluid should i use to keep my syncros intact and smooth.

3. when i went to my local parts store to do some research the man gave me an option of 233mm or 279mm rotors for the front, anyone know what size i need? with that dot 3 or dot 4 break fluid.

4. what spark plugs does everyone like to run and at what gap.

is their anything im missing out or that someone could recommend that i do, i want to keep her running perfect for years to come.

thanks guys

1. Your choice.
2. Get the Honda mtf.
3. If parts department is asking than they don't have the correct part for your specific model, guessing games could lead to more work.
4. oem spark plugs come pre-gapped but its best you download the fsm to assist you better.

IT'S BRAKES! But yes, everything tony said is spot on. As far as the brakes go, they should to be able to pull up the proper size rotor you need. It should be the bigger one since it is the same sizes as the 99-00 civic si

Ngk zrf5f plugs
Get some ngk wires on ebay or amazon
Manual transmission fluid is 5w30 motor oil or penzoil syncromesh
Replace cap and rotor
Your ex has the larger rotors. Dx and hx came with smaller front rotors
