00 Civic EM1 low rpm stutter
I just picked up a 2000 Civic si em1, with stock b16a, Intake, Header, Exhaust, high flow cat, type r tranny. I'm experiencing a low rpm (from about 1.5-2.5k rpms in any gear) stutter uppon acceleration. It doesn't feel fuel or spark related at all, and it also doesn't do it on decel in gear. I can downshift into 4th or 3rd and as soon as the rpms drop to ~2.5k rpms it will begin to "stutter" again until i depress the clutch and take it out of gear.
The car has tokico coilover suspension and I THINK it's got motor mount inserts. The problem doesn't feel fuel or timing related, rather it feels as if the motor is just kind of rocking on the mounts. It DOES have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. It does this is any gear also, I could be going down the road in 5th and as soon as I hit around 1.5k and hit the throttle it will begin to "stutter". The car doesn't backfire and is not throwing any CEL codes or anything.
I've read a couple different threads where the answer was new plugs, wires, fuel filter, TPS sensor...etc but I couldn't see why anything fuel or spark related would also occur on decel IN gear (where the fuel is cut and the engine is just "resting" on the gear).
Also, it doesn't feel like it's losing any power ie. tps sensor or spark plugs/wires. It has full power but just kinda stutters or hiccups through the specific rpm range. You know when you're first learning to drive stick and you drop the clutch too quick in 1st gear and the car bucks and all of a sudden you can't stop hitting the gas pedal as it jerks back n forth? Yeah, my car kinda feels like that.
