The tool goes inside of the pully and you put a breaker bar on the tool, Then you take a socket thro the center of the tool to the bolt. Its the only safe way to take the pully off, There was a kid on here last week who did it half assed with the screw driver and broke his bell housing so he was really screwed i dont see why ppl wont go rent the f#$%ing tool or buy one for 35 bucks!!!

Awesome write up.
Was searching to see if anyone did one, as I'm doing one on an Integra LS this Friday and was considering a DIY. Might still do it just for DOHC purpose's and post in the 'teg forum even though very similar.

I have a quick question about setting the timing for the crank pulley. There is 4 different lines on the crank pully. Which do I use to line it up? I alligned it with the line that was furthest from the other 3. A few people told me to set it on the red line? Can you clear this up for me? thanks.

When you take off the crank pulley you will see an indention line onthe crank gear and you can just line that up with the arrow on the block. Then slip the crank pulley on and finish up the job. Just make sure everything is TDC.

Same goes for the LS. Just make sure everything is lined up when putting back together

Re: (JDMTopFuel)
i quick question about setting the tension. in the helms, it says same thing as you, set crank and cam to TDC. but the way they said to tension the belt is turn it coutner clockwise 3 teeth, loosen then tighten 14mm nut and repeat. is that the best way or is there another way?

By turning the crank a few teeth, it will remove the extra slack that can get traped between the cam(s) and the crank pully on the side without the tensioner.</TD></TR></TABLE>
but wouldnt that throw off the crank timing ?

It won't, as long as all the teeth are in the right postition when your done. Your gonna have to check it after you finish. It is best to set cam timing after you reinstall the lower timing cover & crank pullie, so you can double check your settings quickly.
