distance makes a huge imact on how loud it is. Like the scca is done from far away and it is way easier to get things passed. but like said above it is just over 3dB that the sound doubles and I know that for a fact.

Dont matter they pop your hood to check your oil level. Also they have to know what motor to see how high to rev.

I think the only thing is the exhaust. I wish you could do it for a turbo kit cause then i would be set

Yes, they also give you a couple print outs stating the car's info, the RPM tested at, and the db level recorded.
Also, I think they do it farther away than 2ft, but not completely sure. I had my Apexi N1 tested last month after receiving a ticket and hit 91.6db @ 5700 RPM on my 98 GSR (stock header and cat)

They checked my BAR sticker to see the year of the motor, and i dont know if they checked to make sure it was legal or just because they remembered me and looked for it. But i remember they looked over the BAR sticker.

nice....so do you get a certificate or anything else after for you to keep just in case next time they try jacking you again for mod exhaust? also, are you going to court and presenting that to the judge or mailing it in or how does that work? Need to write down that phone number cause i know i'll get screwed for having my n1 some day!

Re: (Luserkid)
Please tell us more about the time you went to get your bar sticker. What did they do to determine if your motor was legal? I'm sure they wouldn't just take your word for it.
Thanks a bunch

I have a twin loop now so I dont have to worry about that dumb **** anymore. You could be at a stoplight and a cop will give you that ticket. It happened to me twice.

Also how do you challenge the ticket in court when the officer checks NO in the non correctable field. Once they do that you are not able to contest the violation and you have to pay the fee.
Please let me know you have already been to court for this, and they wrote it off I must of missed that post by you.
In theory this whole idea is good but I believe you will be shat on for your hard work because I tried to challenge the same **** and had it signed off by an officer with my RSR GTII on the car and the clerk said "the officer who wrote you this ticket put no in the correctable area of the ticket. That means you cannot contest the violation."

ok kinda of topic but I have a greddy exhaust but I lost the 50 state legal certificate. Should I get another one, or will the cops know that greddys are legal. Better not risk it, damn cops probably won't know the difference between greddy and everything else. Ok so my question is how can I go about getting another certificate ? will greddy automatically mail me a new one or do I have to show a receipt to greddy?

Basically the police are required to mark it as correctable. I have a couple links saved that explain the law and vehicle code and in there it states that cops are supposed to mark correctable. I post it tonight
