$500 dollar eg. Worth it?
I have a friend that has a white 1992 Civic cx hatchback. it has no motor, the body doesnt really have an undented panel on it. It has stock HX wheels, decent interior, jdm cluster, spoon mirrors, and thats about it.
He wants 500 bucks for the car. I was thinking of just buying it and reselling it once i put a motor in it. Would it be worht more to part out, then sell the shell?? It does have a clear title.
Just looking for opinions and suggestions on what to do with this thing.. It is a white cx and i knew they used to be wanted.....

Parting out a car sucks *****...
You end up with the carcas chillin in your garage or back yard until you get the parts off. And the parts take up a TON of room. Plus, you keep telling yourself you'll be able to sell something that sits on the shelf for a couple years before you throw it away.
If it's complete and not rusty, fix it up. Throw in a Z6 swap, pop a couple dents, hit it with some bondo, and paint it. Rock it as the daily only having $1500 or less into it...

Ya, the last one i bought for 800 bucks ended up looking like this when i was done.
I spent a bit of money on it, but it turned out really nice.
I was just trying to get a feel if the car is worthr 500 bucks....

Re: (Lscivic1999)
i bought a hatch for 200 and it sounded exactly like what ur talking about. needless to say it turned out to be a damn nightmare. but my hatch had more issues than i was told. now i know why people call um gremlins. i hated that friggin thing. i fixed one thing another thing went wrong. put a motor in it cleaned the bay up realy nice checked all the wires on the engine harness and neatened it up a bit and then i go to turn it over only to see some sparks from under the dash. well the guy before me sliced into the ignition wire and it was resting on a piece of metal and it blew the entire interior harness to poop. just check it out before u buy it. u could make some money with it or keep it. i say go fo it

Where are you located?
I think you could sell the interior, JDM cluster, spoon mirrors, and HX's for about 500 once all is said and done. Not to mention you have a few other things. I would do it. Parting out a car could be fun.

$500 for a shell isnt to bad.Depending on how bare it is.Some people in cali sell shells for over 2k,but those are shells that are complete and just need a motor.I even see shells that are junk go for $800.If its fairly clean,i dont think $500 is to bad.
