$50 for the answer!!!!
AS many of you know I have swapped a b16a sir II into my 94 civic ex using a p30 ecu (virgin). The car runs but not very well. The power is less than my d16z6 even in vtec, it boggs sometimes in first and takes about 5 seconds start accelerating. it also boggs sometimes when accelerating in all the other gears throughout the rpm range. The car has been in the honda shop and another one but nothing was fixed.
This is what i have replaced or checked so far.
1. spark plugs
2. dist. rotor
3. dist cap
4. spark plug wires
5. fuel filter
6. check injectors
7. had a shop check the timing
8. coil
9. ignition module
It feels that it is either get to much air or to much gas.
I used the stock wiring harness because it was already wired for vtec. I extended my o2 senor wires and i ran a wire from the ecu to the knock sensor.
I have on plug (wires: red and yellow/black). I was told that this was for emissions that the jdm motors dont have. I also have two vacuum lines coming from the charcol cylinder on the fire wall wall. One of the lines (thick) goes to the top of the throttle body but i dont know where the other on is suppose to go. I need as much good advice as i can get. I just started working for nasa and i cant drive my buddies car forever due to security issues. I will send $50 to who ever suggests the ANSWER to my problem (via paypal). This will be cheaper than taking it to another shop and have no results.
Thanks guys
Leon

are you runing a cat and what exhaust setup
also what are u runing for the intake system
you might need a bigger fuel pump as well, why no go with a inline pump they can be had for under 100 shipped.

One of the hoses goes to the top of the throttle body correct, if i loop it then what should go to the throttle body?

I am running the stock civic exhuast, i was thinking about buying a header and exhaust system but im kinda skeptical about spending another $1000 and the motor still not running right.

show a pic of the wires and plug you have. Better yet, take a pic of the engine bay. What codes are you getting? Did you make sure you did not confuse the TPS and Map sensor plugs? Does it only bog at WOT?

You would have to use vacuum caps to seal the openings in the throttle body and IM.

A.) you're not "skeptical" you're hesitant to spend more money
B.) find the home of that loose vacuum line and run your car with the MAP and IAT plugs switched before making any more drastic choices. It could very well be as simple as a vacuum leak and a pair of crossed plugs.
C.) are you throwing any codes?
D.) are all your grounds intact?

check all your ground wires
check your timing belt, make sure its on timing
check your ignition timing also
check your tps signal with a volt o meter thing.... it could be broken on the inside, but that might throw a cel if it was

Im not throwing any codes whatsoever.
What is WOT?
Im going to check and see if my MAP and TPS are switched but i seriously doubt it.
All my grounds are connected.

check your timing on the crankshaft and the camshafts... my friend got his b16gen2 and it would sputter like crazy and he did the swap himself it was being greedy and i went over there and checked everything... he took it to a trusted shop and the guy found out that one of the cams was off2 teeth check that

Re: $50 for the answer!!!! (mike81)
spark plug gap (within spec)
cam timing (Slipped a Tooth)
o2 sensor (replace)
Ecu (bad)
Start with the easy things and work your way up.

Re: $50 for the answer!!!! (Sixgundone)
The JDM motor may not use a purge soleniod. But this should not cause your motor to bog. I am not running iyt in my engine and I have no issues.

Re: (Sixgundone)
ok here is the best answers you are going to get all rollled up in a neat package.
there will be one extra plug. it is for the evap purge solenoid. your car is wired for it but the motor does not have one. that is also where the #7 emissions hose goes to from the charcol canister.
solution 1.) now are you using a USDM p30 or the JDM p30????
because if you are using the JDM p30 you are fine, but if you are using the USDM p30 this is the problem becaus the ecu is looking for the purge solenoid and you dont have one.
solution #2.) how is your car already wired for vtec??? its a 94 and they are not wired for vtec unless its an ex/si. there will be 4 wires need to be ran to the ecu make sure the wiring is correct. i am almost sure this is the problem.
solution #3.) do a compression test to make sure the motor is in tip top shape before you hammer it.
solution #4.) paypal me the $50 when you find out the problem
i will seriously be waiting for the moeny

He has pretty much hit everything here; thats really sad that you have taken it to a shop already and they couldnt fix it and they probely suggested you replace alot of parts that you really didnt need too. Can more people offer money in return for answers to ? ( broke college kid here hahahaha)
