Default $--Brake questions---> $$

Okay so I just notice yesterday and today that I'm in need of new brake pads and rotors. Took the car in for a oil change after work today and they told me I had like 10% left in in front brakes not good! and 40% in my back. This is a 95 civic coupe (ex).

Okay so these guys are going to charge me $290 for pads & rotors just fronts I believe. Anyways back brakes? How would I know if I even got back brakes, my ABS brake? Because I have hubs in the back no brake pads or rotors etc only in the front. So anyways I read around here and I guess it cost around $200-$300 for a brake conversion, no? That's for LS/GSR (same) & Civic Si 99-00. Anyways when you convert would it be everything for that amount like arms/rotors etc. all for the price of $200-$300 or how ever much? (Have a feeling I read wrong somehwere on conversion price) Reason is I had future plans to do a brake conversion but cuz I new new brakes though if it cost as much might as well do it now? So yeah that's the questions. If it turns out it cost more or whatever, screw it I'll just try to get some maybe brembo rotors and some kind of pads and do the conversion later on. TIA guys

$290 just for front pads and rotors?! That's rape. Just get some brembo blanks $25 each and some PBR XBG pads $39 and DIY.
You have drum brakes in the rear. If they're still at 40% I would leave them alone.

"They last longer there-by saving you money and provide exceptional braking performance no matter how demanding you are" Ceramic disc brake pads-any good guys? Just looking around freaken cost $200 plus for rotors and pads, adding price per pair. Guess I might just spend the money can't have the fast without the stoping power. Right? Also guess can't go with cheap stuff as well, hate freaken brake dust!

well I've got a haynes manual- thing sucks if you ask me, for the Noobs like me being new to all this and all....I mean I looked once to try and take off my 93 bumper thing explains it like I already what's what when I don't. But I'll see if I can do it with the manual. Besides it's mostly for rebuilt of the stock engine I think and not much on other things.

Anways where you guys order those from? what's the site? Not bad on price. I went this site (islandmotorsports.com) and found some brembo slotted for $115 but no pads and that's not including shpping and etc. so yeah. Well let me know on where you guys got those from, cuz I need some brakes soon! by the end of this week-if my brake even last til then, daily driven.

Well looked at the hynes manual...guess it's a bit much for me-don't know what's just cliper/rotors/pads so don't want to mess up plus don't have the tools...well no I'm in brew city, WI....Well I think rear might be easier for me I think but don't have the tools anyways....

All right I'll check the market place form. But I went to check my local auto store (advance auto parts) can get some brembo sloted and pads for a high estimate of around $205-210 plus tax etc. But thing is I'll need to find someone to do it cheap then because $205-$210 is a bit much-can have it done for $180 something with regular blank rotors and pads but perfer to do sloted upgrade.

Anwyays I'll see if I can find the site you guys are talking about and order them because so far pretty good in price<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by melsers &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i only spent $120 on brembo slotted rotors and PBR XBG pads, tax and shipping included </TD></TR></TABLE> so yeah

Well anything else let me know otherwise I'm just going to try and find them and order them and have someone or a shop put them on for me and pay labor if they don't charge me up the *** on it...
