Default "JDM" Headlights

I wasnt really sure what I should title this, but anyways heres the question.

I have a 98 CR-V, and if I'm not mistaken the headlights are very similar to those on the 96+ Civics correct? Well, I know Ive seen quite a few that have painted the inside of the assembly black around the bulb and reflectors. I was wondering if there was someone who could give me a step by step on doing this, or if theres a link with some instructions on the proceedure. I did a search but couldnt come up with what I was looking for. Ive never seen a CR-V with this done so I figured I might give it a try. Thanks for your help!

To disassemble the headlight you need a small flat blade screwdriver, a sharp knife, a blow dryer and a second set of hands if possable.
Use the hair dryer to heat the glue on one section at a time. 15-30 seconds should do it... Once heated, pry with the screwdriver.
You should do this process all the way around. Once you pry it up a little you can work on getting it apart. Just pry very hard and cut the glue at the same time.

To seal the unit you need some silicon sealent.
Anything that bonds to plastic should do. Be generous with it as you dont want it to leak!
Your done!

This is for a civic but you get the idea!!!

Actually you do.

1. Turn on oven.
2. Let oven warm to 200 degrees.
3. Put in one headlight at a time.
4. Let it warm the glue for about 10 minutes.(makes it easier to open up)
5. Take out headlight and start prying it open with a flathead screwdriver and a knife to cut the glue.
6. Once open, the chrome housing should be attached to the clear lense with 2 or 3 screws. Take the screws out and remove the housing from the lense.
7. Paint housing whatever color you want and let it dry.
8. Screw the housing back into the lense.
9. Attach the lense back to the other part of the headlight.
10. Reseal with clear silicone and let it dry overnight.(use sparingly)

Check out csi for the full details.
