Default Windshield replacement

I have a 2020 LX and the windshield is cracked and needs to be replaced. My deductible is $1,000 for some reason, I just never looked into what it was set to when I got my insurance. I really don't have the $ to pay the insurance but I did find a shop that said they can install a new aftermarket windshield for $450 and that I don't need the camera calibrated and if it does need it he can do it at his shop for another $150. He has very good reviews and says he has done many replacements that don't require the camera calibration.

I'm just hoping I don't have any issues with the ADAS if it does need calibration and he can't do it after the install and then I'm stuck having to pay the dealership a ton to have it done there. And on that note, I read some dealers won't calibrate the camera if the glass is not OEM. I also read some people not needing it calibrated after a new windshield so im kind of confused on what to expect.

Has anyone had any experience with this? Did you have any issues with the aftermarket glass, and did you need the camera calibrated?

It sucks cause I'm dealing with the same situation with my other car which is a $60K Jeep SRT that just got a big crack somehow! I swear I have the worse luck with cracked windshields, I drive home in traffic a lot and I try and keep a big distance from other cars but I just can't win!

Guess ill find out tomorrow fingers crossed I don't have major issues with the ADAS system. Its going to suck if I do because I use it every time I drive the car, I commute 45 min twice a day so once I hit the freeway I set it on eco and cruise control with lane assist on I really like how it keeps me in the center and steers for you briefly even on a slight curve, the system will warn you to take control of the steering wheel, Its pretty neat. Helps when I'm driving home from work at 5am super tired!

Well great news! the guys at Zico auto glass hooked me up! did both my cars in about an hour and came to me. The glass looks identical to the original and everything seems fine, no need to calibrate the camera like he said! I drove around and to work no problem and ADAS works like it should. Its crazy cause all 3 of the other glass co. including Safelite were quoting me $850 for the glass and install and $700 to re calibrate the camera at the dealer. I got the glass installed for $450! Not a scratch on the cars!

Here is a pic of the glass brand, he used the same brand for both my SRT Jeep and the Civic.
