Default I got jacked

Well this Christmas, with my mother out of town, I was planning on relaxing, but mid-day I decided to finally put my y8 Intake manfiold on my y7. I've had it for a couple of weeks and have been just prepping it and basically procrastinating.

I was out there for maybe about 3 - 4 hours, slowly swapping the manifolds and casually talking to neighbors and passerbys. I decided around 5:00 that I would go back inside and get some food to eat. I threw my tool bag in my trunk and left both manifolds in the trunk as well.

45 minutes pass by, come back outside and my trunk is wide open. Sprint to my trunk, to find my tool bag gone . It must have been someone in my neighborhood that saw me working on my car, that's my only conclusion.

I don't know how they got into my trunk. I'm positive that I locked my doors (keyless entry system), and they didn't break any glass.

As of now, I feel completely disgusted, wishing I had just stayed in the house and played Madden or something. At least they just took the tools. No damage to the car, both manifolds still here. My tools were kind of average anyway. It's not like they got me for a 250 pc. Craftsman set.

I talked to my girl, and she was just like "look at like a blessing in disguise. You're always complaining about not having great tools. Now you have a reason to get some better ones." made me feel a little better, it just sucks that I didn't get to finish putting my car back together.

I suppose I'll have to have it towed to a shop. $$ Probably monday, i don't suppose any shops would be open tomorrow. Oh well, Merry Christmas

Anyone have any better X-mas stories to share?

I'd get drunk, but I have no beer, and no car to go get some.

why spend money towing it...then more money for the shop to finish what you started.

why dont you just spend that money on a new tool set and finish it yourself..its not like craftsman is some baller ****

If you were willing to spend the money at a shop why not spend less and hire a taxi to bring your girl home or to get you your tools? That'll be less than getting your car finished at a shop!

dont you have some friends or something that can give you a ride..

if you can get to work tomorrow and during the weekend, then you can somehow get tools and install the manifold after work or something. unless you work 24 hour days

hell, you dont even need to keep the tools... go to sears get what you need, do the work then return the tools ...

then save some dough and then buy some tools later???

Yea atleast your car is still theres, its still pretty pathetic that people would break into a car to steal some dam tools. If I ever catch anyone breaking into my car or any of my family's cars, already had my GSR stolen, but If i even see anybody I don't know around my car in my driveway, I will not hesitate to go after them with any weapon available.

about a year ago we had someone break into our shop and steal 6000$ worth of tools. they also stole the interior out of my dads 67 nova, then rolled it onto its roof. they slashed the interiors of both 62 corvettes and the ragtop on the 68 vette. the only thing they didnt touch was my dads 65 chevyII it was his first car and also the nicest but i can under stand why they didnt touch it. eventually we caught the guy that did it but the court said legally he only has to pay back 1$ a month. that could take a while considering he ruined 3 $45,000 corvettes and a 67ss nova
