Troubleshooting: 2016 Honda Civic Touring -Blank Navigation screen
That's not how it is supposed to do like
Hello,
Purchased a 2016 Honda Civic Touring with 24,000 miles on it about a week ago. It's been working great and I've changed all the settings to my desires, but today I got in and my navigation screen was blank. Please understand when I say blank I don't mean the actual infotainment screen was black - it was still functioning and I could control my audio and settings normally. What I mean is the actual navigation map is blank. To be clear, the little car indicator (thing?) moves and tracks normally - it tells what direction I am facing accurately. There simply is no map below it. Here is a picture to help you understand.
Now here is what I have tried:
Rebooting the head unit
Rebooting the head unit again, then immediately going into settings > system > detailed (to get to the android menu) and reset the device to factory defaults.
Unplug my battery and let the car sit for some time.
At this point I'm a little beyond pissed and I don't know what to do. I would greatly appreciate some help in resolving this. I am a fairly technical guy and so long as I don't have to physically deconstruct something I can do what needs to be done to fix this.
Cheers!
Matt

Garmin does the navi system in the new civics. you may have to update your map software. Garmin customer support is 800-800-1020.
you could bring you car to a honda dealer and have them check service bulletin 17-048. its a update that the dealership can do. shouldn't cost anything.
You can get into the sub menu of your radio by holding display button (dimmer button on top of radio), audio power, and menu at the same time.
