Civic LX makes knocking noises when hitting bumps
When I leased my Civic from Planet Honda, it had around 2 miles on the odometer. When I first drove it, it appeared to be fine. After about 200 miles or so, it started to make knocking noises on the front right side, and at the same time, the steering felt crooked and very loose, especially when making right turns. I took it back to the dealership and they determined that the right front shock absorber was defective, so they replaced it (or so they said). After driving away with a supposedly fixed car, the knocking noises persist, and the steering is still crooked and very loose. Is it possible they didn't do the repair work in the first place?

It is a possibility, but unlikely. If they replace a part under warranty they have to have the failed part on hand in case Honda calls for it back to inspect it.
I would go back and request that the technician go for a ride with you so that you can show them exactly what the problem is. Unfortunately some folks just throw what they think is the most likely part at a noise without confirming the customer's concern. It makes a big difference if you can show them exactly what you are after.
I will say that these new Civics are equipped with electronic power steering which tends to be more sensitive that a hydraulic system. Many people feel they drift slightly on the highway, when I believe the system is just picking up any input and giving an output. You have to keep at least one hand on the wheel or it will take inputs from the road itself.
Hope they get it straightened out for you.

Re: Civic LX makes knocking noises when hitting bumps
I took my 2016 Honda Civic LX to Pep Boys Hackensack yesterday, and they put it on the alignment machine, and told me that "everything is tight." So how can a car have extremely loose steering despite having a perfect alignment???

Re: Civic LX makes knocking noises when hitting bumps
The front, right wheel just started wobbling, especially when I make a right turn. It was doing this BEFORE and AFTER my car had a wheel alignment done at Pep Boys, so it can't possibly be an out-of-balance wheel. The knocking noise is also becoming more frequent! I really wish I could pinpoint which component it is so that a mechanic can fix ASAP and once and for all! This car is trying to kill me!

If the alignment shows nothing but the steering is weird then that could point to the rack mounts are not torqued down properly. This was an issue with the early 8th gen civics. You should have them retorque the rack mounting bolts to spec.
Just a general overview of what the 8th gen civics had to do.
