The battery died, so I took it out and took it to the shop to get tested. It was bad so I bought a new one, but came home to find I can’t get into the car. There’s a key-hole in the driver’s door handle, but Honda made the ludicrous decision to make this an electronic lock too. Turning the manual key in this key hole doesn’t do anything since there’s no battery hooked up (yes, I tried pulling the handle while the key was turned). It’s looking like my only option will be to take off either the grill or the wheel well to access the hood-release cable, but I’m hoping someone here might have a better option that I haven’t thought of.

Edit: okay, maybe the manual keyhole isn’t electric, but still doesn’t work. I’m reading plenty of accounts of the linkage not being hooked upfront the manual keyhole. Just as frustrating...

The manual key hole should work unless it's damaged. Unfortunately you are stuck if it isn't working- you should have made sure it was working while your battery was still good in the first place, but you can't do anything about that now.
The manual key hole is really flimsy and fragile, so try to be gentle with it to get it to work.
