What's the RPM at 70 MPH on 6th gear 09 Civic Si?
Hey guys. I would greatly appreciate an accurate answer ( not a guess) of the RPM at 70 MPH on 6th gear, 2009 Civic Si.
I have an EP3 currently and I am doing a K20Z3 swap. I want the lowest RPM at 70MPH and my choices are the EP3's 5 speed or the K20Z3's 6 speed.
Thanks in advance.
George.

Thanks man. I am aware of those gear ratio calculators.
I would like actual RPM at 70 MPH on a 2009 Civic Si with stock tires from someone who owns one.
I know it seems easy and trivial, but getting that answer is apparently very hard.

The ACTUAL rpm will come from the calculator
There is no way for an owner to see the actual rpm at 70mph as the stock tachs are not very accurate to begin with
With a 23.44 inch tire the 6 speed box with stock FD of 4.764 will hit 70 mph at 3150 rpm
With the same variables the EP3 5spd box will turn 3550 rpm at 70
The 6th gear in the Si allows the engine to spin a little lower
The stock 215/45/17 inch tire is around 24.62" tall
EP3 with this tire at 70 will turn 3350 rpm
FA5 with this tire at 70 will turn 3000rpm
if you swap to an RSX-S FD of 4.389 you will turn 2750 rpm with the same tire - thats about as low as you can go with stock gearing as the FG/FA5 6th is pretty low ....you can also run a slightly taller tire and adjust for any changes in flashpro as the speedo will be off when you change the FD etc..

My FA5 ( 2010 model ) does 3100 or so RPMs at 110 Kms ( 70 MPH ). I think its like 3150 0r so, but without a digital RPM gauge, the needle is halfway between hashmarks.

In my wife's '08 Sedan, 70 mph is 3100 rpm on the tach. The car is COMPLETELY stock.
