ok...I read it somewhere, and now I can't remember for the life of me what "Si" stands for...anyone know?

 

i could be wrong but the si doesnt stand for anything,its a trim level just like the ex,lx,type-r,type-s,etc. someone correct me if im wrong

It denotes the S model of the early 80's civics.....the Si added fuel injection.....hence the I.

 

As far as I know, it stands for nothing.

This sounds like it could be right, or it sounds like it could be a very good bs answer. (jk....i know it's right)

I saw one answer that I thought was funny in my google search: Si stands for "Special Ingredients"

 

Si = "yes" in Spanish
Si = Steal It
Si = Sequential Injection

Sports Injection. That is what the original meaning was when it came out on the 85 Prelude Si and 85 CRX Si. All the other Preludes and CRXs were carbureted, so Si denoted injection.

I believe there was a Civic S model--82 & 83--which had some sporty features (blacked out trim, better seats, possibly stiffer suspension?) but no fuel injection.
