Hello people reading this,

I currently own a 2008 Honda Civic ex and in just the past 3 years the starter has been replaced 3 times. Is this a common issue with civics? I had just purchased the car by a military guy about 2 yrs ago. He kept all records of the basic maintenance that is needed for any vehicle. We had found that the year before we purchased the vehicle, 2016, he had purchased a new starter for the car. In 2017, middle of the summer, the starter failed yet again. We survived through 2018, but just recently we had to replace the starter yet again. What could be the cause of this? Is it my fault as a driver? Is it a lack of maintenance that I just forget to do? Or is it just a civic thing?
