^^^ not to be blunt but i do not believe you one bit.
I cant see any dealerships selling their Si's for MSRP or less. Honda is only releasing them in really limited quantities. It would be a really stupid business decision to sell them without dealership markup. But then i live in Hawaii where all dealerships have dealer markup.
Ohh and dealerships actually make less money by doing a cash deal. Banks give dealership a kickback for giving them business. Either that or the dealership sells an APR higher than what the banks are giving.

Not sure about all of that (not a car salesman), but mostly true. Offering someone cash in a deal for a <U>high demand product</U> that brings additional money to the table through company-backed financing is <U>not</U> an incentive. If making money is your objective anyways...

Remember, the car is a Civic. They will sell thousands, if not more. I called my dealership and managed to get it down to MSRP out the door in any model trim. I figure in a couple months, i can easily get one under invoice. Its all about this stupid hype thats built up.
It does help to know the sales manager, vp, and owner of the dealership

Ya, they said the same thing with the TSX when it came out, not budging on the price! Just wait for the demand to go down. Christ, it isn't a TYPE-R!

Re: (NerveAgent)
In a year, you'll be able to get below MSRP - without a problem. This is a mass produced car. We are just at the initial stages of production and with a high level of excitement around it. Supply is low and demand is relatively high - dealers will try to ask for more than MSRP. Everything in life is negotiable - as the saying goes.

Re: The quoted price I got for 06 Civic Si (OxYi)
I'm in Germany right now (air force) but I'm getting the car from Illinois.
I got quoted that same price from Cali dealers, Colorado, and New York. I have the pleasure of shopping anywhere in the states since i really dont "live" there in a particular state. But all of them told me the same price. I just went with the dealer that could give me a black one the soonest. But it still sucks cuz I have to fly back there to pick up the car and drive to a port so the military can ship it here. They said it could take up to 65 days.

Thats something i never heard of before, The us airforce will ship your car to germany. What happens when your service is up, will you remain in germany or ship your car some where else.
And thanks for your service in the military, it is much appreciated here in America.

Re: The quoted price I got for 06 Civic Si (Dirty Bird 15)
Yeah they ship it here (only one car per member and one time per assignment) and then they will ship it (and me) wherever i go next. And we appreciate the appreciation, but its really one of the best jobs you could have to be in the worlds greatest and most advanced air and space superpower. (Unless your like a cook or somthin) i get to fix F-16 fighters.

Sort of ... I have a buyer's order for and have put a substantial deposit on an alabaster silver metallic 06 Si (no nav).
All together its $22,358.14 including shipping, tax, appearance package (floor mats, mudflaps and wheels locks), etc., ... out the door!
Salesman just called and I'm picking it up TOMORROW!
