Question on License Brackets
Hi, I have a 2008 Honda Civic LX and i was wondering how i could get the license plate on the side of the car. I'm kind of bored of it being in the middle. Do i need to buy a new bracket? If so, does anyone have a site? Please and Thank you.

I have the same bracket. I got it during their open house sale last year. I just didn't bother to install it because I'm just rolling without a front plate. **** the law. lol

Re: Question on License Brackets
i you wish not to purchase a plate relocator, you can definitely make use of your existing bracket by following this method taken from 8th gen forum:
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/exter...ip-w-pics.html
however, instead of mounting it lower like in the photos provided, choose a side for relocation, then use one of the existing mounting holes in the bumper (left side, left hole, right side, right hole), after removing the metal clip, if the extended screw doesn't fit. this will determine where you will have to drill your second hole (1/4' bit). it should come out like mines did. you're gonna have to cut away excess plastic form the bracket for clearance issues with paint and/or front lip
Pic of Proof
without plate. the gold dots in the photo are the screws
with plate
hope this helps

Re: Question on License Brackets
Im lookin at the brackets on password jdm and im wondering how hard it actually is to do. does the stock plastic license mount attach to the metal bar? or does the license plate screw directly onto the metal piece?

Re: Question on License Brackets
I tried flipping the plate holder upside down (found the DIY on this site and on Club Civic) and found out it doesn't work too well on the sedan bumper. Then I thought I could use some small metal corner brackets and drill holes in the grill to mount them, then drill holes in the license plate to mount it to the brackets, but there's not much room to get a drill where I need to to get a straight hole. Also, the grill is angled in toward the bottom, the plate is taller than the grill, and the mounting points on the stock bracket are at the wrong angle when you flip it, so it'll be difficult to get it looking right. Squidette figured it out, though...Looks sweet. I just left the damn thing off after messing with it a few times.
