I just got a 2015 civic si and less than 24hrs later I get this. I got an appointment at dealership to look into it but was wondering if anyone’s had this problem? I try to start car and it only turns on accessories. Turn it back off, try again, same problem. It “seems “ to help if I hold the button down longer, even to the point of it actually starting. Don’t you have to just press the button, not hold it? I don’t know. I came from a 95 civic so please school me.

Sometimes as I drive that sign pops up and when I turn off the car I can’t turn it back go. I go run my errand, come back and it starts. It’s like a bad sensor or something. Tomorrow I’ll find out. I’ll see if they can give me the type r as a loner.

Mine was like this last summer. When I just pressed start normally my car only tried for half a sec, my BF last summer read about holding start down but my car still just kept trying till I let go, like 5 times one time. Normally it tries starting the car for up to 10sec when you press start, but I hold the start down till my car finally starts if it sounds real close.
I love my car, especially the leather. But my start button has been so much trouble for like 2 years, or at least my cars been starting weird for that long.
