Renaming the thread to cut down on the flux of threads inquiring about used 8th gen civics as these will become even more common now the 9ths are coming out.

everyone with *3rd gear problems*, isn't this a manufacturer fix? If I bought an 06-08 si and it had a 3rd gear grind/pop-out, could I take it to Honda and have it fixed for free? My girlfriend's 06 RSX-S had 3rd gear problems, and after a few trips to Honda, they fixed the problem for free. I am not sure if it was a warranty fix? or even if the car was out of warranty, would they still have fixed the problem?

I have a DD (for winter) but I want something a little nicer and sportier for non-winter daily driving. I just recently started looking at 06-08 Si sedans (those years seem to be more available in my price range) and they are holding their values pretty well. 06-07 Si sedan with 40-60k miles are priced from $15999-$17999. I've only seen 2 or 3 Si sedans with higher mileage (70k-90k) and they're still going for $13k-$15k! A little pricey for me.

I have one main concern, should I really emphasize on buying a Si sedan with LOW(ish) miles? I am really comfortable with spending under $15k for a used Si sedan. And I need to finance so I would only be able to purchase through a dealer

Thanks for the help and this thread has been very informative for me

I just recently bought an '08 Si from a Toyota dealer and financed it, I ended up paying $20k because it looked immaculate, had 1 owner and was at 24k miles (reduced down from their $22k internet price). It was the cleanest and really the only White Si Sedan for sale around so I had to have it. Just know exactly what you want going into it. As for the warranties they had many to offer but I didn't go for any, you might want to if you have the extra money but I didn't, it still has a full powertrain warranty through Honda until 60k miles, so yeah look for low miles if you can

hey guys, i'm new to this site (first post), and i currently have an 08 si. i sometimes toy around with the notion of selling it and was wondering what you think would be a good and fair price for all involved.

habi red FA5
95,000 miles (a lot of highway, almost all, back and forth from VA to NY multiple times a year).
exterior (7/10) - some wear and tear dents and scratches.
interior (8.5/10) - normal wear and tear.
oil changes every 4k
tranny fluid every 25k
dunlop direzza tires with about 10k miles on them
the car has never, ever, given me a problem. nothing has every broke on the car and there have been no need for repair other than oil changes. new brakes as of 85k miles.

Mods:
JRSC supercharged
P2R tbs
Vibrant header w/hfc and vibrant exhaust
aem cai
ingalls power stick
ID 725 cc injectors
skunk 2 shift ****
progress rear sway bar
hondata flashpro
e-tune through e-tunez.com

i have all the stock parts, however some of the hoses and nuts and bolt are missing from oem equipment. the only stock piece i don't have is the stock shift ****.

anyways, what would you peg it at? i was thinking $17k or so. more or less or just right?

thanks.

I just bought a 08 civic si coupe with 33k miles an navi for $15.5k from a mitsu dealer. I think I got a pretty good deal considering the honda dealer next door wanted $22k for an 08 with 26k miles. Its good to shop at the end of the month

Hi, im a new owner of a used white 09 civic si. The car has 27,000 mi on it and only one owner. The carfax record is clean. It runs and looks like new. the dealer has it for $18,990 (internet price). I manage to haggle it for $18,490. i also traded my 1994 acura integra rs(auto) w/ 142,000 mi. it got appraise for $500. so in the end, my total price is $20,210 after the tax, trade-in,fees. do you guys think i got a good deal? what issues should i look for on this certain yr and model? any worthy mods i can do? thanks.

I think that you could have pushed them a little lower on the price and also would have sold the integra separately to get more than 500 but over all not to bad

I've been deciding between an 08 Ford Focus and an 08 Honda Civic. Leaning more towards a Honda Civic. But the thing is, I want to looks for one that's an automatic coupe with less than 60k miles on it. Not sure if I'll be able to find one for the price I have in mind.

I plan on spending 8-10k I'll have a hard time finding one for the price with that many miles right?

Any common problems to look for?

Do any of the 06-08 coupes come in leather?

What can I expect to pay for one? What can I expect to pay for a rebuilt titled one?

Im helping a friend buy an 07 civic lx auto. I have the carfax and I know how to look for prior damage, but I am unfamiliar any problems associated with this model year.

What should I look for and ask questions about?
Any costly maintenance I need to ask about?

(I read through the service bulletins, but was just wondering if there is anything else to look for. http://www.automd.com/tsb/honda_m/ci...2007_y/?page=4 )

Generally speaking would you steer clear of a 2009 Civic Si with 101k on it? High mileage for sure, but how do these cars age particularly well?

I am a little nervous about it. Any input is appreciated!

Not sure if this is the right place for this but I cannot find anywhere else that fits.

Consdering a 2012 Civic Si. What are people opinions on them?

I owned a 2000 EM1 and it was good car and I like to the fact that they went to the K24 for the new gen of Si.

Having more torque is never a bad thing for a Civic

What does everyone else think?

I test drove a 2008 4dr civic Si today and I loved it. I need an opinion if I should buy THIS one or not. It has 72,000 km on it and it is $17,000. It has a funky clutch but they said that would be fixed when the car is bought. Everything seemed good about it. I found it at a local Honda dealership. What are your thoughts?

Considering buying
2007 2door civic si
54k
hes asking 10 grand... has hail damage, haven't seen it in person yet. Seems like a good deal to me, there's obvious dents on the hood but I can't tell the rest of the body by the pics.

I've only owned EF's and EG's is this a good/fair deal??

I am looking for any FA owners who can give me feed back on their 8th gen civic. I am currently in the midst of preparing to sell my Dodge SRT-4; because of the gas mileage and driving that I do I need something more economical, as well as cut down insurance and registration costs. So I was looking into getting a 2006-2007 Civic LX Sedan. Being a K series specialist and road racing mechanic, I would love to get an Si but it would have the same gas mileage or not much better than my current car and that won't be the direction I want to go in this trade. I race in a popular road racing series and I have a K24 powered 95 coupe, so performance, power and speed are not at the top of the list for my commuter car hence the reason I am looking at a LX civic sedan. I ultimately want to have Si bumpers and Upgraded suspension and some wheels with the 1.8 engine for economy.
My main questions are - Can someone give me a rough base insurance cost and registration cost(California please) for a NON SI sedan so I can compare to my current costs for my SRT-4.
Aside from the bumpers, grille, a few things and the engine and trans, what other differences are there between SI and LX Sedans? Seats? Sway bars, brakes etc I assume. Lastly, what pros and cons are there to your non SI civic sedan?

Thanks for any help,
JW
