oem honda auto start for 06 civic?
ok so i wanted to get my wife an auto start for her 06" civic lx. its automatic and is almost brand new still but we life in an apartment that is 3 floors down to our driveway. i asked her if she wanted an autostart for christmas and she said hell yeah. i call my local honda dealer that i buy tons of parts from if honda made one for the fa civic. my buddy told me that they only made them for the accord, ridgeline, and pilot. my question is can i use the same autostart for any of these 3 hondas on her civic. i would rather buy one from honda for honda than go get an aftermarket one if possible. if not what would be a good brand of autostart? both my mom and dad have them on there cars and they have had problems with the car starting on their own when the key fob was not even in their pocket. just sitting on the table. i dont want something that is going to do this. thanks in advance.

Here's one for the fd2 ctr http://passwordjdm.com/JDM-FD2-CTR-E...2577C1798.aspx but what's so hard about just turning the key and pushing on the break.

I would wager you cannot easily retrofit one from another Honda model into the Civic. You're better off getting a quality aftermarket. I had a DEI (Viper/Python/Clifford) security system with a remote start that worked really well.

OFFICIALLY, there are no auto start for a 2006 Civic from Honda. And I wouldn't go that route, anyway. More expensive and more restrictive.

If you have an iPhone/Blackberry or other smart phones, you should try the Viper Smart Start. http://viper.com/SmartStart/. its about $400
you have to pay $30/year but your 1st year is included able to use your phone as your Lock/Unlock and also to start your car. and if u want alarm also you can get a 2-way system so itll let you know on your phone if your alarm is triggered. and if you dont wanna use your phone then it also gives u an extra key fob. this isnt for all but its a pretty cool system
