Default Nighthawk Black paint imperfections

So I noticed a few days after getting my car home from the dealership ( while washing the car) that there was a patch of what looked like some kind of sap behind my passanger side rear window. So i gave it a little extra once over with my micro fiber cloth and checked again. It was still there. It appears to be really small scratches like from a light grit sand paper. It also appears to be under the clear caot because its smooth to the touch. Im wondering if anyones heard of anything like this. I told the woman from Honda ( my courtesy new purchase call) who explained she would forward it to the dealership. I never heard back. Its been about a month now and im wondering if this is something from the honda paint booth or possibly due to something else? I just don't want to take it to them, and have them claim it to be my fault.

Thanks in advance,

Billy

Well Billy, My NHBP is crappy too. Mine was built in late Feb, and is orange peeled all over the sides. Honda's paint process isnt the greatest. Some cars are perfect some are bad. Go to your dealer and complain and have them fix it.

Honda paint does suck, but I think your issue is something else. Since the Clear Coat is applied at the dealer, it might have been something that happened during transport they tried to fix.

I also have NHBP and my car is covered is light scratches, like little towel scratches. You can see them in just the right light, I know they are there. Btw, I also use micro fiber towels as well.

You know, I have major orange peel. It reflects like glass, but it does have that orange peel effect.

Hellzcivic, it sounds like we have the same issue! I had no idea the clear was done at the dealer? Did you contact them and resolve anything?

They dont apply clearcoat at the dealer. It is a factory paint flaw.

Some of the nicest paint jobs i've seen came from honda's susuka? factory

now that these cars are made in the states, it's interesting to see how you guys say the paint quality is poor. Just look at a ford and maybe you'll feel better.

Man, that sucks. Sorry to see all you having issues with this. I purchased the protection package that covers paint and interior. Got a good deal with my dealer during the purchase so I decided to do it. They will fix whatever happens with both.

My paint has been pretty good to me, only complaint is one spot where it somehow chipped itself off... because its in a spot that is impossible to be touched by anything. (In the crease of the hood and driver fender) What is this 'orange peel' you guys are talking about?

my habanero has noticeable orange peel as well when you really look at it from an angle

I always compare the lackluster build quality of my Si compared to that on my integra.....but then i realize how my type r cost 8 grand more with less options

Haven't seen any peel on mine yet. Good point, you get what you pay for.

Orange peel is what an outside of an orange looks like. Not smooth but peely. NHBP and Habby are real noticable

What color was it? I had something I thought was sap near my passenger headlight. Its like yellow paint or something. I can sort of pick it off with my fingernail but then that scratches up the finish.
