Installing Aftermarket Navi/DVD...this is for an 06 si non-navi
I didn't put this in the Audio/Security/Video forum because our cars are so freaking new that I would rather post it here. Here is the setup that I am looking to buy tonight. I am getting an awesome deal on it.
#1) Pioneer AVX-7000 7" Display
#2) Pioneer AVM-P7000R Brain
#3) AVIC-505 Navigation
Now here comes the questions. The guy is giving me all the cables, manuals, remotes, etc. I will try to be as specific as possible with my questions.
1) I heard that there is a harness available to hook up aftermarket headunits. Will this work with this setup? I am guessing yes.
2) Can someone point me to the correct parts I would need to buy to convert the dash to double-din. I read some write-ups on 8th about how to install aftermarket headunits, will this work for me? If so, skip this question.
3) Anyone have personal experience with any of this equipment? If so, how did you like it?
4) Am I going to have to load a disc with this everytime I want to go somewhere? Will I need a subscription with this navi?
5) Where would you recommend mounting the brain and navi unit? I was going with the trunk, but is this too far away from the headunit?
Thanks for all the help guys. I just don't want to spend money on this and have it be more trouble than what it is worth. If anyone sees this as a bad deal, please explain why?

1) yes or just wire it up with a duplicate harness from the company that makes ur unit
2) hondapartsdeals.com
if u go on college hills honda for the "in dash cd " installation pdf it gives u all the info u need on install
3) i had an aftermarket eclipse AVN.. not crazy about it a few of my friends have the pioneer ur looking at at its "decent'
4) No... it runs of the disc and thats it no subscription
5) most people go behind the glove box or under the seat

Re: Installing Aftermarket Navi/DVD...this is for an 06 si non-navi (Type X)
Thanks for the reply Type X. I guess I am going to get it. The navi unit retails for like $2500 so I think I am getting a deal.
