Default Haynes manual and junkyards

Hi, new guy here. Nice to meet you all. So I have what I think is a pretty general question here. Long story short I want to go to a junk yard and take a hood and rear drums off a Civic to use on my own 2012 Civic. But here's the problem. I don't know what years models are going to work and what won't. I have 1 of those Haynes repair manuals and it's for years 2012-2015. So I guess if I stay between years 2012 and 2015 I'll be fine But I really have no idea hence the post. So yeah if someone can let me know if that's true that'd be great. Or if there's some other range of years that works best, let me know please.

I also own a 2012 model year Civic and I feel like I bought it one year too early, especially with the Si trim. I missed out on the faux cf interior trim, two tone seats, small performance gain, and most important the sound deading materials. My goodness, there's so much noise coming into the cabin when driving around, especially on the highway. Excuse my rant.

Anyway, the majority of the parts SHOULD be interchangeable, minus the cosmetic updates that started with 2013 model year. In your case the hood should be good and the rear drums as well, so long as it's the same trim. The 2012 Civics are the black sheep of the 9th gen but I don't think Honda would drastically change the chassis and it's underlying parts that much.

Thanks for the reply, I was getting worried. So, then what you're saying is if I stick to 2012-2015 models I'll be good, right? Barring what you said about 2013 and the cosmetics of course.

Stick to the same trim + body style and you should be good. Best way to be sure...you can always cross check the part numbers with the model year you're looking to get it: https://www.hondapartsnow.com/

Hy Everyone!

I'm going to buy this book... it's the "Honda Civic (12-15) & CR-V (12-16) Haynes Manual"?

It does have a good coverage of the Engine Parts?
