Default expletive Thieves

So last night I bought a navigation system that was worth more than $4000. It was a 7" in-dash screen, the brain, navigation, and a tv tuner. I bought it off some guy on Craigslist and it was a straight-up cash deal. Then we decided to go to Philly to chill, and my girlfriend's car got broken into. We got the license plate and they stole her headunit, cds, and my box with all my new **** in it. A police report was filed and yea we know how that goes. So my question is, what do I do? I had my insurance go to full coverage on Saturday because my car might have came in, but it didn't. Do we try to go through my insurance company or hers? Honestly, will I be able to get anything back like compensation? I do not have any receipts because it was bought used. What do I do? I ******* hate thieves and I hope that they all die. I am so pissed. Please help everyone.

Well the worst part was my dad had the guy, but I thought he just took some cds and he had about 12 big guys with him. It was just me (5'9), my dad (5'11), my girlfriend and my brother. My dad was fighting with him, but then some other wanted to jump in and I told him to back the expletive up. Then the guy that my dad caught left on a bike, but we got the plate. I ready to kill someone and my dad would have went to jail if I let him go. Any ideas on how to handle this guys?

This is being handled. We looked up his license plate because one of the other cars they broke into was an off-duty cop, and he ran the tag. I have his address and I am getting some people together to go expletive him up, but what should I do to get my **** back? I know he sold it already. What do I do with the insurance company?

Thanks for all the input guys, but what do I do? I am getting a receipt from the guy that I bought the stuff from. It is just a written statement saying I bought this for X amount of dollars. Will this be good for insurance? We are both going to sign it also.

won't work...thats a separate unit and not from your car unless it was already installed, signed by a technitian and declared as part of your car electronics in the insurance statement, blah blah blah...insurance covers a minimal of 1000 besides U and I know they will do anything to not pay what isnt covered n written and signed unless u get the dude on ccrailist to sign an insurance paper for partial or total damage(very doubtful since it was a used electronic component) or u get an idiot from ur insurance company in charge of your case and yeah u may get it back but i see that as a 1-10% chance.

The bold is what was stolen. I now just found out that I may be able to claim it under my girlfriend's homeowner's insurance. Anyone know anything about this?

Real smart posting this kind of stuff on a public forum guys...lol, you arnt going to do **** because if you were, you'd have already done it and you wouldnt have said anything. Bottom line, you're probobly screwed and you will probobly get nothing in return because you dont have reciepts...learn how to keep your mouth shut and just take action, instead of blabbing about it on an internet forum...its kind of silly honestly. And yes, yes...i know, im an ******* or something along those lines, i can deal with that, so save it...
