Clicking type noise coming from suspension
Hey everyone. My 06 R18 has a what I would describe as a sort of popping/clicking type noise coming from the suspension. It seems to happen mostly when traveling at low speeds over slightly unlevel ground. It seems to be coming from both the front and back. Currently the car has 181k on it and I know nothing about suspension. Can anyone make some recommendations on what I could have my tech check for? It's really getting annoying. I know my shocks are totally shot. Planning to do them in the next week or so. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Check your sway bar bushings all 'round and make sure your spring seats aren't crumbling/ crumbled.

Re: Clicking type noise coming from suspension
Ok. What do the sway bar bushings do? Like I said I know nothing about suspension. If they are found to be bad, is it bad to drive around long term with bad sway bar bushings? And with the spring seats, how often should both these items be replaced? My technician already did my back shocks. I'm told the shocks have a part called a Strut Mount, my service writer told me that they need to be replaced every time you do shocks on a Honda. I don't believe they replaced the Strut Mounts just the shocks.

Re: Clicking type noise coming from suspension
The strut mounts are part of the front suspension. They complete the assembly known as a McPherson Strut. The swaybar bushings isolate the swaybars from the body of your car and if they start to crumble ( age and wear will do this ), the swaybars will start to knock against the chassis. Swaybar end bushings do the same thing except they are at the ends of the bars and absorb shocks from the other suspension components during motion.
any of these bushings will wear over time and could be what's causing your knock.

Clicking is usually associated to CV joints. But could be as others mentioned, totally shot bushing to the point the center post/bolt is bouncing between a metal sleeve.
