Default 8th gen honda civic fuel pump

I am trying to put a kill switch on my civic. I am trying to find out what the color of the power wire is on the fuel pump plug. I tested the four wires that are in the plug and the only one with power when the car is started is the red wire. I cut it and hooked up the switch. it still starts but it shows no fuel on the dash. What am I missing here.

Wrong wire. Test the remaining wires one at a time and see which wire has 12v+ when you first turn the key on. It is likely a yellow/green wire... but I am not certain, so this is why I suggest testing the voltage. Repair the red wire and see if your fuel gauge starts working again.

I can confirm it is the solid green wire 👌
