chances are the SI will have a turbo 4. or the acura ILX. it sounds like honda wants all engines turboed either for power or fuel economy.

i read a report saying CTR will not be sold in North America (take that Canada )

Not getting my hopes up on a newer civic si just yet, the only good news I've heard so far is we're finally getting honda turbo engines and its a good sign.

Meh, that could be a bad thing, too.

Honda replaces CEO Takanobu Ito with Takahiro Hachigo

I checked out the ILX at the Chicago Auto Show on Saturday. I liked the looks of it, but the interior will need a complete re-do if they intend to use this platform for a Type-R. The interior seemed VERY flat.

I was able to check out the Golf R and whoa is this a sexy car. I liked everything about it.

Some controversy about the glitchy final seconds. They say the tires were pretty much gone by the end of it. You can certainly see the car pushing in some places, and unless you're perfect you have to slow the car down to compensate...any rotation with your right foot has got to slow the car down.

I don't even know who the driver was, but he seems to have done a fine job, somebody who knows how to drive an ITR type of vehicle.

Ito-sama was really a bean-counter as CEO and was a direct influence on the lack of "sportiness" of the brand. Going to Hachigo-sama, I believe is going to be a better match as he was an engineer in several divisions for about 15 years.

I remember when a friend of mine at Nissan was talking about how the S2000 was created; two engineers staying up late at night, trying a new idea to bring back the S800 in a new and exciting way. when their bosses found out what they were doing, they actually were given the go-ahead to continue the project.

When a similar late-night off-the-books concept arose with Ito-sama at the helm, the concept was immediately destroyed and they were reprimanded.. Who know what the guys would have developed had they been given a little creative leeway and autonomy.

Interesting info!

With regards to the new R, I guess we got exactly what most were anticipating.

Next up...the New York Auto Show. The rumor mill says if anything R related is going to happen for 2016, this show is practically Honda's last chance.

That would be pretty sweet. Would you happen to know the target weight and price? Will it come with a LSD?

There are so many links about so many different Honda things that its sorta starting to **** me off. lol

I think I am done chasing what Honda will be putting out for the US market. Really, it wont set myself up for disappointment later.

I'm confident it'll be a much better car in every single way than a 300 WHP EG (or whatever you said you had).
