Icon4 2006 Honda Civic 1.8l coolant issues

Hello everyone! This is my first post to your great site.

I am currently here in Canada pulling my hair out trying to figure out what is wrong with my Civic. A little background information I park my car for the winter time due to salty roads in my area. I have a four-wheel-drive that I use in the winter time.
I have been parking it for the last five years starting it occasionally thought the winter. . I got the car on the road about a month ago and it was date night me and the girlfriend took the car into town into my alarm the temperature gauge read hot. I immediately pulled over and let the motor pool and check the coolant there seem to be lots of coolant in the system so I called my brother and we picked up a new thermostat(Honda OEM/coolant) for the car. We put it in on the side of the road. We bled the system of air And topped off the coolant. On my way home the temperature gauge still red hot. So naturally I figured hey… There must be some air in the system, so I bled a few bubbles out of the system and topped up the coolant again and repeated that a few times, i hoped back in the car and started to drive, and it was still reading hot😤 I got the car home and waited till the next day to begin working on it again I restarted the car and noticed the top coolant hose was warm but the bottom one seem to stay cool. And the temperature gauge goes from cold to hot (max) in a matter of minutes (approximately 3 to 5 minutes). A week went by and I took another stab at the car hoping some air bubbled out of the system, but the coolant was full in the car, and it seem to start a little harder than it used to and the idol seems to be Different like not idling high like it use to when it was cold. My friend said to park the car uphill with the radiator cap off and let it idle and then let it sit which I did but I still have the above problems the car isn't giving me any codes or anything. I'm thinking it may be a ect sensor? But without having a code coming up I'm dubious on it being that Hoping you all can help give me some words of wisdom!!

thanks for reading!!

It's possible you warped the head when it overheated the first time. You need to compression test to see if the head is sealing.
