2006 AC issue
At first I thought the compressor was bad until I replaced the AC relay. The AC blew cold air for about an hour then stopped working. The clutch stopped spinning . So then I got some freeon and with the guage provided on the can , the pressure was at 90lbs. I then let pressure out (I know shame on me) down to around 40-45 lbs and the clutch came on again. Now I just drove the car for about 2 hours and the same thing is happening again. Clutch doesn't kick on and the pressure is around 90lbs. Why is it building up so much pressure. It's way to hot out and my girlfriend is nagging the **** out of me. Please help !

Re: 2006 AC issue
I don't know how to repair AC systems but I have seen enough to know that you can't just grab the first can of refrigerant you see and pump it into your system and not break something. The system should be vacuumed dry then filled with the proper stuff to the proper levels. There is specific equipment to do this so that air is not introduced into the system.
Each AC takes a specific refrigerant and a specific oil all at specific amounts. You can't just use any old Freon you find.
I suggest you take your car (don't run the AC) to the dealership and pay the 100-200 (if nothing is broke) to have them vacuum out the system and recharge it with the proper stuff. Hopefully you didn't break anything with your botched recharge job.
Also, tell them you tried to pump in some Freon and bring the can with you so they can see the type.
