Isnt the Honda recomended break in 600-1000 miles? Why is everyone so excited about a 1/4 at 2500miles? Seems ok to me? Have you not heard of the run it hard break in method? I have heard success stories from that method as well as the take it easy method.

I certainly would not be "drag racing" a brand new car at that mileage. Like you said "it's starting to break in"..... You got a few miles to go before that, and if I'm not mistaking, VTEC is a no-no during break-in... Atleast for the better part of the break-in time.... And that intake most likely voided the warranty it had....

Decent time though I guess......</TD></TR></TABLE>

i dont know... maybe you could have been a little more negative than that dont you think?

and i'm sure it doens't take an entire day to put the stock air intake back on before taking the car back in for service under warranty...

Ahh, but the breakin period is 600 miles per the owners manual. 601 miles and you're in VTEC or you're a wuss

Me and another employee will be installing the stuff after work tomorrow (7pm central). I will try take as many helpful pictures as possible. I will be doing the AEM CAI, DCRH, and DC Catback. I don't have any idea how to post video online, but I do have a digi camcorder, and know how to upload to my computer.... But to answer your question, yes I will post pics, and prolly have to deal with haters for 2-3 weeks.

Back to the 14.7 @ 97 mph (now I am the guilty one of whoring a thread...sorry!!!)

timeslip?? response?? anything?!?! You leave that quick post about a 14.7 then fall off the face of the earth... I would really like to learn more about your run!!

2500 miles not enough of a period for 1/4 mile passes?? You guys do not know what your talking about.

You do understand that the method to break-in an engine is still debateable. Alot of people who build there motors wont even run them until they are tuned on the dyno! The motors are broken in on the dyno, and they are doing full throttle passes throughout the rpm range within their first hour of running.

I'm not saying i would go beat it as soon as I pulled out of the dealership but after several hundred miles I progressively drive the car harder and harder. To SEAT the rings properly.

Engines these days are built to far closer specs than in the past. There is no real break in period, just use common sense and let the rings seat a few hundered miles under normal driving then do what you like.

A intake will not void your warranty unless the part installed caused failure of the part in service for a warranty claim.

hes right the if the dealership can prove that the part that was installed on the vehilce had caused the problem or whatever with the car then they can void it or just not cover that problem

Theres no real Break-in process. You break in the motor how you want. Motors nowadays are advance. So I say Break should start as soon as you get the car. I've seen Weak motors cause people wait like 3000-5000 miles to start driving the motor hard.

Not in the United States it doesn't. No dealer or manufacturer may void a new car warranty as stated below they must prove that the part caused or contributed to the reason for the warranty claim. In the case that it is, it is still illegal to void the warranty, they may only deny the claim.

Basically, unless the dealer can prove that the part that failed did so as a direct result of a part you installed, he is obligated to fix it under warranty.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Speed Monkey &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> Remember that the stealership must PROVE that the mod caused the specific failure to legally void a warranty (even though they will tell you that the warranty is voided if they do not want to do the work). And the warranty will only be voided on that specific part (ex. springs will void the struts, but not the tranny). </TD></TR></TABLE>

I ran a 14.0@101 with Borla Exhaust and Mopar BOV and that was at 1200 ft. elevation. 14.2 is pretty much standard time for an SRT.

Back on topic yes I want to see a slip and maybe a vid would be nice.

Deleted huh. Sorry to tell you that I do have a professional career. My life does not revolve around Honda-Tech. Im not a teenager posting imaginary times to prove how fast my car is either. I ran my car, posted the time to show people what the car can do with a decent driver. I will post pix of the TS and the CAI install tonight. I'll even throw in some pix of my S2k. Amazing another member ran a very close time to mine too wierd huh

Most forums require timeslips at the time of posting a time. I dunno if HT does, but when you are the first to drag a car, and your info spreads to 5 different forums, people want proof. I don't doubt you have a successful career and don't have time to be on HT every minute of everyday, but you posted that time on Feb 20th and came back on here March 9th to defend yourself. It put significant doubt into your post, until someone ran a time near yours with a timeslip to prove it. Props to a great run, and I would still like to see your timeslip (not for proof, but for 1/8 mi, etc...) Congrats man!
