06 Civic Si or 06 RSX Type-S?
okay guys, if you had to pick between a 06 Civic Si and a 06 Rsx-type S, which would you choose and why? i am debating on which one i should get. If you have experience driving them, tell them here!
Here are some stats
2006 Honda Civic Si:
Horsepower: 197 @ 7800
Torque: 139 @ 6100
Redline (rpm): 8000
Curb Weight: 2877lbs
Mileage: 23/32
Weight Distribution (%, front/rear): 61/39
Price: starts at $20,290
2006 Acura RSX Type-S:
Horsepower: 201 @ 7800
Torque: 140 @ 7000
Redline (rpm): 8100
Curb Weight: 2840lbs
Mileage: 23/31
Weight Distribution (%, front/rear): 61/39
Price: starts at $23,845

Wait for them to get some quirks out of the Si, then buy the 07' model. Its cheaper, and just as fun as the Rsx Type S. The 1 extra lb/trq and 4 Hp isn't worth the extra $3,000-4,000. They practically weigh the same, and the Si gets better gas mileage. Problem solved!

Well... I just recently went to both honda and acura dealers (a few of them actually)
and right now, the demands for the Civic SIs are killer
26k out the door for the SI and i got quoted 25k out the door on the RSX-S.
go figure.

My brother has a 06 rsx type s and ive driven the new si i would go with the rsx anyday it feels and drives way better then the new si in my opinion. My brother got his for 24000 tax and title included the new si the dealerships around here are trying to get 3000 to 5000 extra for the si in my opinion after driving both and i think the rsx looks better then the new si. thats my opinion after driving both around for a really long time.

It basically boils down to what you can afford and what you think looks better. Performance wise, the numbers are too similar to say one is way better than the other. I went with the si because it was almost $4k less than an 06 type s and insurance was cheaper. The rsx looks slightly better in my opinion, but saving $4k quickly makes me forget about that. Both are great cars, and you cant go wrong with either one.

Straightline - its a toss up
Top speed - RSX because of gearing
Handling - Si by a large margin

I work on the new Civic Si 's at my local honda dealership ohh yea. We have only had one problem SO FAR. a clicking relay. Fixed in-out 20mins. I love the Si. I feel, as we get acuras in all the time also, that the Si handels alot better than the RSX-S. Also i feel a bit mroe comfortable in the Si, a bit mroe usable legroom and such b/c of the dash set-up.
All in all, as almost everyone else has stated, its personal preference, but the Si is cheaper, and cost lless on insurance. gas money shouldnt really matter
whatever u like mroe man.

Acura RSX +'s gets loaner cars at dealer, longer warranty,
Acura RSX -'s higher insurance, no navi option, no lsd option, discontinued style, price
Civic Si +'s - LSD, Navi option, Price, new styling
Civic Si -'s - No loaner cars, lesser warranty
IMO

Re: 06 Civic Si or 06 RSX Type-S? (g0t vtec-)
Dude, get the Si. It's shifting is smooth as butter. It's grip/handling rivals the Z06 vette in slaloms. The LSD is freaking fantastic. It sounds a HELL of a lot better (stock vs stock) in VTEC. It handles better.
It's got a sweet dash, and kick *** stero system. OPtional Navi. Better Handling.
It's CHEAPER. Spend the extra money on bolt on. Better Handling.
It's just plain old sexy, and yep you guessed it, Better Handling = more fun on the street and backroads

I agree. I would pick turns over straight any day.

Re: 06 Civic Si or 06 RSX Type-S? (Dee A Nine)
Not to mention an RSX-S was right on my bumper a few days ago, and tried to stayed glued to me until we came on a nice curve to the left. That put him back 4 car lengths, and he couldn't catch me after that.
