I wouldn't waste my time and money on the HFP brake kit. It's only rotors and pads. Just get some OEM replacement rotors (Brembo blanks, Centric, or powerslot if you really want slotted) , some better pads (Hawk HPS, Axxis Ultimates), and some DOT 4 brake fluid. That would probably be better performing than the pricey HFP brakes. You can even get stainless steel lines with the price difference!

Unless you really need to have the red painted bits..

I have to admit, I had my doubts about this VTEC thing, but it surprised the crap out of me when I hit it the first time. Hopefully, after I get all these TSB's out of way, this Civic will have a long and happy life with me and my family.
The color is called "Galaxy Gray" not brown.. They were more correct than you were about that LOL

Anyone else hear a clicking sound when your wheel is being turned?

Not really familiar with drive by wire and all, but I've never noticed it in a car before. It's only occasional.

I am not sure, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it's the front LCA compliance bushing. It has been talked about on 8thcivic.com with some full metal replacement bushings out there now (full race, blox, password jdm). I think I might be having the same issue with my car at 91K miles now.

The car seems to make this noise while not moving even. I have no idea. It's a 2010 Si coupe.

If you're still under warranty, I'd say take it in for an appointment and have Honda take a look. Maybe something in the suspension is loose? Is it happening on any particular side of the front?

The sound seems to be coming from the driver side. I can't tell if it's inside or outside. It could be a relay noise for all I know even. I'm not familiar with this generation, but I'll likely be in charge of keeping this car in top condition.

I might have to bring it into Honda while he's at work. I hope they don't give me bs about bringing a car in when my name isn't on it. He just works six days a week and an hour away so it can get difficult to get stuff done.

Those are just replacement lower ball joints. That would have more to do with wheel hop then noise.

NOFX the problem is more than likely the steering rack, you're hearing steering rack knock/pop/clunk. Iirc they're four bolts that secure the rack to the sub frame, just loosen them and tighten them back down.

Thanks. Since the care is still under warranty I'll have them check it out first. Not my car, so I shouldn't go messing around too much. Nice to know what it might be though.

Thanks T3KNiQe, instructor74, and DFW! I'll pass the information on. I'm sure he'll be VERY happy and hopefully I can get him to join up soon.

I did just get him the TWM shift ****, which he's in love with. First mod ever.

Do any of you experience like a rubbing sound when taking off?

Basically in the morning when I start my FA5 and I put it in first gear and start releasing the clutch and taking off you hear a rubbing sound. Like there is some sort of friction... It does it for a few minutes until it's all warmed up... Do you guys experience this?

I changed my transmission oil recently which was the Honda MTF... do you guys use something better? or would you suggest something better for the LSD tranny?

Thanks for the help

First off I'm a tech at a Honda dealership so when it comes to my cars I'm kinda lazy after working on cars all day. I have an 06 2 door and I have 2 questions, Does anyone's clutch pedal make a crunching/creaking sound? And 2 what is a good suspension set up, either Springs or Coilovers? I have heard nothing bad about the Eibach Pro Kit just looking for some advice here thanks.

Depends on your goals or future set ups, how much you want to spend. I had S techs, now I have go power coilovers. Don't waste your money buying both.

I work at a Honda Dealership and there was an 06 with Skunk 2 coil overs and when we put it in the air the spring almost fell out from the rear, is this just with skunk 2's or all coil overs on these Civics? I know it was because the car was slammed that the spring almost fell out but are all of the coil overs like this?

That's normal the spring is a lot shorter compared to oem. What were they, pro c or pro s? Nothing much ken, I'm starting to think about selling the civic again. I'm watching obama speak and he's actually not using a teleprompter, it certainly changed his tempo of speech. It sounds like he's giving a sermon.

So what will you be getting in place of the Si? I do have to say that I love my truck a lot but Ive never missed a vehicle more in my life then I do my Si.

Buddy and I are going to start fabricating some parts for the 98 coupe. Decided against going NA and decided to do a turbo car for once. Will be a budget build and nothing serious. Looking for 250-300 whp. Most likely going to use a TD05 Evo 3 big 16g turbo. Small I know but will do its job and be reliable.
