You have to remove the console and look underneath. The boot is heald by some clips and staples.

Ok good new I the stupid console out and now I just Have the black plastic peace the boot and that silver trim. I haven't removed the boot yet because I don't have a type r boot yet. I was wondering what part of the boot that I had to trim, is it the part with the staple in it?

Yes, you'll be trimming that section of the replacement boot. Remove those staples, along with the OEM boot. Trim the new boot one section at a time. Start with the front and work your way around in a clockwise motion. It's relatively simple, but take your time so you don't mess up.

Edit: When I did mine, I used a thick needle and heavy thread to attach my new boot. It was easier than trying to reuse the staples.

FYI I just fixed a lot of problems someone did to my wifes new car and the boot was one. He destroyed the ring around the boot so what I did is I put the boot over the entire thing, tucked underneath center console and glued it. There is many ways of making the boot look nice this was one (depends on boot). Another tip for you is if you have a shift **** with those annoying screws that always fall out try buying tube from a hardware store (the kind you can buy per foot) and buy the first small one that fits over the steel bar, then go up one more size to go over that one, and build up until your **** fits snug then glue it or just keep it the way it is. Hope this helps
