rubbing/grinding noise?
hey guys, this noise is hard to describe. when i stop for a second, say, at a red light, as soon as a i take off, something on the passenger front side will make say a grinding or or rubbing sound. you can clearly hear it and very slightly feel it. and it does it more when someone is in the passenger seat.
side not, when im just driving along, it wont do it, its only when im stopped for a second, and it does not do it in reverse.
any help id be very thankful for, thanks!

if its in the front its prolly not exhaust. my exhaust used to rattle in the back because one of the hangers wasnt lined up right so i bent it inot hte right location. have you looked to see if something is rubbing on your tire or wheel or possible a sticking brake calliper. does it feel like there is resistnace on that side? like maybe a light pull to the right in the steering wheel?

no there is no resistance...i mean maybe a LITTLE but nothing that moves the wheel. do you think its still the brake caliper? should i clean em good? i noticed that my brakes ARE slightly touchy...would that account for the extra weight though? to cause it to do it more?

not sure if it would be the brakes or not. just thinking of ideas. if it gets worse with someone in the passenger seat maybe something is rubbing when the suspension compresses. do you notice it over bumps? also are you sure it goes away after a minute? because a loud exhaust/etc can hide some sounds once you get up to speed.
if you took the front wheel off you mihgt be able to see if something had been rubbing somewhere. like on the back of the tire you might see a smear mark.
edit: its hard to diagnose wihtout actually hearing/feeling it so im just htinking of possibilites and things to maybe look for

no i appreciate it, its a great idea. ill clean them off just to make sure (the brakes). that reminds me, i took out the brake pad because i thought it was sticking as well, and it had a slight crack in it. like, not a crack going passed the surface, just a surface crack i guess.
anyways, im pretty sure it doesnt happen when im up to speed. its easy to hear even with the exhaust.
