Default New cat is too short?

Replace the front cat and i tried everything to get it in the pipe but it seems to just be too short . Is this normal or what? My old cat end is a bit longer and it’s my second part I bought and they are 2 diff brands and just shorter than my original. Idk if it was welded to fit. Someone help me out I been on this for 5 days bouta lose my job.

Why did you change the old one out for the new one? Was the old one cracked?
