my 2001 civic is overheating after long drives
my 01 civic ngv (natural gas) is overheating.
i fill up about a liter of water after an hour of driving.
i usually top off the radiator before i leave the house then
start the car and top it off even more. whenever i start
the car its starts bubbling (for a few minutes). then after being
topped off, it stops bubbling (as stated above 5 minutes or so).
the car was stumbling/missing for a while until i pulled the plugs to check the spark. it was a brown colored spark. eventually the miss got so bad that the
car just stopped working. it would crank but never started. i replaced the
spark plugs and it fired right up.
now the car is starting to miss again only for the first minute or so of operation and then its fine. and it still overheats on long drives.
indications:
1. overheating
2. losing coolant
3. brown spark
4. bubbling radiator
possible problems????
im thinking maybe a head gasket leak into a cylinder. (the car has coil on plugs so dizzy is out not sure if i have an ignitor i think each coil has its own ignitor)
any other ideas. i really dont feel like doing a head gasket, but if i have to better sooner than later cause winter is coming.

I think you're spot on with your assumption... You gotta do what you gotta do.
And if it's a head, so be it.
