Default is it me or our em2's really slow??

i tryed maxing out my car and it only did 104 mph, i dont know but to me that is really slow , the only mod i have towards the engine is a exahust, the rest is all suspention.
my town is full of 5.0s and camaro's and here i am with a puny little car, the only thing i can beat them with is my gas mileage. but all in all i think the honda people did a great job at the styling of our cars, cuz by far it is my favorite generation( style wise not engine ).

Hate to say it, but they're not blindingly quick. In fact, 104 would put you somewhat close to red line, which isn't smart to run at. Yeah, EM2's are slow in all meanings of the word... but, they'll continue to make great sleepers as long as people put K-series engine's in them.

you're estimating really really low specialedition05. you forgot about install, tuning, more suspension work(axles), and a hell lot of more maintaince cost.

really does it max out that much? could the weight of the rims and a aftermarket exhaust have an effect on the total max speed of our em2s?

why do you care what the top speed of the car is? how often are you going to be able to legally drive over 100 mph?

My little D17 Hasn't been maxed out yet. the needle was still slowly climbing, not redlining. And mine is very close to stock. I was a swap sooo bad!

Maxing out ur speedo is what give people that drive civic's bad names.

our cars in stock form are NO WAY NEAR made for 100+ mph, therefore they should NEVER be taken that high unless u have modified your tires+suspension+brakes.

Dont be dumb. Go to a track, realize u run 17's and go home and cry, no use taking 45 seconds to reach 110mph, think ur a cool guy, then hit someone and be like WTF?

boosted civics arent "fast". they're "peppy". hell, a boosted civic vs a lightly modded RSX-S with equal drivers would get demolished

Curiouz_G i think thats a little bit of a stretch, 200whp in a Civic is going to be faster than 200whp in a RSX.

RSX does have amazing gearing, and will go better at the top end, but the lightness of the civic will win in the 1/4 mile i would think.

The civic might lose, but not get demolished.

Not to mention the fact that the D17's gear ratios are much narrower than the RSX's. Which sucks, in my opinion, for an economy vehicle. I've got the tach. at 3500 for 75mph.
