I have a 2001 Civic Coupe LX and want to upgrade to a keyless entry. I know Honda no longer offers the keyless upgrade kit. However, I have found the module at a local salvage that came off a Civic EX. My question is does anyone know if the Civic LX comes with the wiring harness that the module plugs into? Thanks for any info!

Yes, it does come with the harness. Pull your center console out, and then go about removing your lower trim panel (with the cigarette lighter in it). The harness will be right there.

sorry to break it to you, that information is not correct. you need another harness, that 2-pin harness plugs into the keyless harness, which has a 5-pin/4-wire plug for the module and runs to the fusebox.

 

Apparently my sister's car had an existing unit in it, before installation, then.

 

that would be my guess. i've looked in several LX's at the junkyard and not one had the harness (and not because someone else already grabbed it, the corresponding harnesses were still taped up so it was clear no keyless harness was ever installed)
