Default FlashPro?

Hey guys, new to the forum.

I got a stock '05 2dr civic lx se last year, just figuring out my list of priorities of what to tune, so the essentials would be good to know.
My bigger problem is that I can't seem to find FlashPro compatible with a series before '06. And from what I'm told, this is the first step in upgrading my ride.

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

What are your plans for the car? Flash pro would be good if you have a k swap going in.

You'll need K-Pro if you're going to use Hondata.

I would only buy that if you're planning a swap in the future, otherwise I wouldn't waste any money "upgrading" a D17. Use the money to simply maintain it or save it for a swap. But... it's your money.

By the way.. you must have missed this link. ► FAQ's and Guidelines - READ BEFORE POSTING!

It's all been covered before.

So the K-Pro is a circuit board for the ECU. is that what you mean by k swap?

And no, I didn't miss it, I just got tired of running through countless pages of forums not to find my answer to realize 'this is a forum.' so i posted-.-

You're going to want Kpro. Flashpro does not work with our cars, swapped or not.

K-swapping refers to swapping in a K-series drivetrain (from another vehicle entirely). So, if you're planning to swap in a K-series drivetrain, it'd be worth the $1000 or so investment on K-Pro. The D17 is not a very good platform to build off of, due to its inherent design flaws.

As for his reference to the FAQ's; you may want to read through that one thread... as its not countless pages at all. Its one concise thread regarding probably every question you currently have about the chassis as a whole. That's the point of a FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) thread.

So since the frame isn't very good to work off of anyway, should I just suck this up for the next couple of years, keep it clean, then sell it and work off another ride?

Preciate it guys!

That's really up to you to decide. Many of us love our cars and don't mind putting the time and money into them. Others want instant gratification and think that putting an intake on their D17 is going to make it faster.

It all depends on what your ultimate goal is. Do you want to RR/AX it, drag it, or just putt it around town?

If all you want is more power and better handling - swap the engine, upgrade the suspension (coilovers, thicker sway bars, etc), and install good tires.

I don't know where you got the idea that the frame isn't very good... but I would have to disagree entirely. I track my EM2 every year, and have enjoyed its handling characteristics. Mine's far from stock, but the premise still stands.
