Em2 Coupe turbo question.
iv been looking into all kinds of cars lately since my EM1 got stolen and im not 2 sure if im looking for another project or a brand new car. Until today im on the highway and a sick em2 flew by me.
One question is i really have no idea wut im talking about when it comes 2 turbo .. i had a Type r all motor and never messed around with turbos before. I have a Garrett Turbo that came off a Saab laying around ... would it be pointless to set this up onto the Sohc Ex Motor? Im not looking to go and replace all the internals . Any info would be great thanks

A properly setup turbo kit will cost you about 2/3 of a K-Swap, which holds far more potential, so keep that in mind.
The intake manifold on the D17 is plastic, so you'll be able to run 6-7 pounds before you have to have a custom IM made.
Look around in this forum, there's ton of people who have done both routes.
If you're really interested on working with the D17, boilermaker1 is somebody who you should get in contact with.

My friend is doing a K swap and its a little to much work then im planning on doing and i was looking aroudn at Kswapped Em2 Pictures and Damnn it looks tighter then a 8 year old.

you can run quite a bit more than 7 psi on a stock IM. It seems like 11-12 is the limit, but by hat point, you're risking stretching a rod bolt and spinning some bearings. A stock saab T3 is a .42/.48 A/R unit IIRC... it should be pretty good for a street car, IMO. Plan on dropping $4K or so into doing it right, plus a more or less mandatory headgasket and ARP stud kit.
