for a 05 civic ex is the shift **** detachable or do i have to unscrew it to change the ****?

 

you should be able to just unscrew the old **** and replace it with the new.

 

If you have a manual transmission, you only need to pop the boot collar off the bottom of the **** by pulling down on it, then unscrew the **** and install a new one.


You might want to consider buying an aluminum boot collar to replace the ugly plastic one. For that, though, you will need to remove the center console in order to remove the boot.
