Alignment Question
What causes the streering wheel to be of to the left or right by a few degrees?
I get an alignment done about ever 10k. Each time I leave my steering wheel is always to the right and over time it migrated to the left by a few degrees but the car always drives straight.
Whats the science behind this?

Im not sure what the reason is, but after lowering my car my steering wheel was way off, so i took it to get aligned and its been perfect since, maybe the people aligning your car havent done the best job...
the job is done right. naturaly the car will come out of alignment by itself thats why you need to get it done about twice a year or with every tire rotation.

You get an alignment every 10,000 miles when you rotate tires? Wow, they have to see you comming from a long way away. That shop is getting rich off of you and your buddies.

The alignment tech not knowing how to do a proper alignment.
Before the alignment even BEGINS, the tech should do the following:
-Put the alignment heads on the wheels
-CENTER THE STEERING WHEEL INSIDE THE CAR
-Make his Toe/caster/camber adjustments according to what the machine indicates needs to be adjusted.
But before any of those adjustments can be made... the steering wheel HAS, HAS to be centered. Not only for proper, true readings, but to make sure the steering wheel is also properly aligned when the job is completed.

I have stiffer aftermarket shocks, the car isnt lowered, but they still did the job.
only problem they try to find "problems" and get me to pay for "repairs"</TD></TR></TABLE>
Is the steering wheel clocked properly now?
