05 Civic EX Air/Fuel Sensor, Part # ?
#1
Need to replace the upstream O2 (Air/Fuel) sensor on my 2005 Civic EX Special Edition (vin#2HGES267X5H56896). I can't see part number on the current part. Called Honda and got part #36531 PLR 003, but they want $341 (kinda pricey). I then went on the Denso site and cross referenced it and got Denso part # 234-9017.
Is Denso part# 234-9017 correct??? Can't seem to verify.
Also what engine is in this model civic? Some places list D17A2 but on under hood tag has a number that ends in A6. I will get actual number and post.
And lastly, anyone know where to get the correct A/f sensor for a good deal?
Thanks!
This is the code on the emission sticker under the hood: 5HNXV01.7FA6

Re: 05 Civic EX Air/Fuel Sensor, Part # ?
i wouldn't use anything other then DENSO or NTK on a honda. it kinda sucks the 04-05 uses the more expensive wide band but i guess its better in the long run. my 04 VP uses the denso part number 234-9005 im not sure if that differs from the vtec models.

I checked out the Denso cross reference too and if that number is correct then it's $147 here: http://www.rockauto.com/

Got it replaced.
Denso part#234-9017 is the CORRECT part, exact part that came on this car from the factory.
Got it from Autoparts Tomorrow, $152.51. Great customer service, call and had them look part up with make/model info. Came up with the Denso listed above.
Back to 36+ mpg!!!
