04 civic engine change help
Engine going in
I have an 04 civic with a bad engine..... I picked up another engine and was getting ready to set it in and noticed a solenoid on the back of the engine that I guess is called a vtec solenoid???... the old engine does not have one.....so my question is if I put the new engine in without that solenoid plugged in will it hurt anything cause my car dosent have the plugs to plug it in.... the 2 engines look identical except that
Origanal engine out of the car

You basically will have the capability to run it, but not have vtec. Car will still run, though you can pick up a few ponies now with a vtec controller or the correct vec ECU/wiring harness. tuning might be a smidge different, but it should still work.
