Type R wing
I beg to differ. But I think that after 198x every car sold in the US must have a 3rd brake light.
So if you omit the 3rd brake light by installing the Type R spoiler, an **** cop can cite you...

dont worry man, ctr wing comes stock why would it be illegal?
Law about spoilers? LOL I think in some cases there should be a law. CTR spoiler? No problems there
But with the fact that the 3rd brake light on the Civic Hatchbacks reside on the spoiler. And if you get a CTR (or Spoon/JUN/Feels/etc) one, you will no longer have a 3rd brake light. It's illegal.
Not too many people have been pulled over for this violation exclusively. But like I said, if the cop want's to be ****...he will cite you for everything that's illegal on your car.
Look at it like this; if your car came with a 3rd brake light from the factory...then you need to retain that light. This only applies to places governed by U.S. laws...not necessarily applicable to other countries, Like Canada or as I'd like to call them "America Jr."

Spoo is right, all vehicles for sale in the USA must conform to the FMVSS (federal motor vehicle safety standard) if you do a search in Google you can find the site. Even it you cant find it in your states VC does not make it legal. I put my factory light in my spoiler. Or you can buy an aftermarket 3rd and mold it in.
Thats why i wrote the post yesterday, what do you guys do for a 3rd break light,i don't want know big *** led like the one on my 3 piece mid.And the typeR break light is in the window. So what do you guys do?
