Id need to get a new steering racking and several other things.. I stand to make a decent amount of money parting out things i dont use when i get another one..

sorry to hear man! at least the fire dept seemed to act quickly as the fire didnt look like it spread past the bay. Good luck on any future build.
On side note, i think the only thing from the 90s that should have stuck around was this.

RHD conversion time, if you really like the car.
You'd replace the firewall, wiring, and steering rack, which you say are the only things really needed right?
Horrible to see an EJ1 with a swap and AC go down. Just dont sell out for a hatch!

Sorry to see another EG/EJ die like that - looks like it probably started as an electrical fire. Too bad you aren't closer or I'd give you our old EG hatch shell.

Sorry to hear this mate.
Did you change the fuel filter recently? Seen it happen so often when the correct washer is not used or its not used at all - fire starting is the worst case scenario

Damn man this sucks!! i'm not definitely not trying to be a di*k or anything But if your car catches fire. Opening the hood is LAST thing you should do. by opening it your actually feeding it the oxygen it needs to burn.
just trying to help share some info so clean cars like thins dont have to be lost...
cars can always be rebuilt. at least you are okay.

From the pictures it looks like it was right at the rail so it could've been a leaky injector.
Lol@fire extinguisher.
Car was looking good. Nice to see some brothas on here.

thanks everyone.. it will take some time but i will definitely plan to come harder with the next EJ1 coupe..
the only reason we opened the hood was because 4 people pulled over that had fire extinguishers so we tryin to get to figure out where the fire was coming from..
Nah man didnt change anything.. ive been running the engine setup for only 5months and that was only my second time taking it to the drag strip when that occurred..
