Re: (xDEFTONESx)
IMO, K Series motor run way better than B Series motors do. I went out and built a B18C5/B18C1 and it cost me about 13K. It made great power and I loved to drive my DA Integra with it, but the fact of the matter is; it was a race motor!
When I got my K20-R with minimal upgrades like a R-Crew Header and BDL Throttle Body, it felt way better than my B Series build. Now that the motor has a few more upgrades it runs AMAZING and its not even close to being built the way my B Series was.
Here's the thing: K Series swaps are great if you want the performance and have the money to swap it. But B Series swaps are great for "build as you go" setups. In the end I spent about the same amount of money swapping a K Series motor in my Civic that I did for my B Series in my Integra.

Re: (ELUSIVESIR)
Time to settle this.
K vs B
The B was developed in the mid-late 80s and was introduced in MY88.
The K was developed in the late 90s/early 200X's and introduced in MY02.
The B has technology that is over 18 years old.
The K was developed using all of the lessons learned from the B, developing new technology, and improving on old technology.
The B has had 18 years of aftermarket support.
The K has only had 3-4 years of aftermarket support.
The B has a timing belt that has to be replaced.
The K has a timing chain that does not.
The B only has 5 speeds in the tranny.
The K has 6 speeds in the tranny.
The K weighs the same as the B with an extra gear and more displacement.
The B has a distributor.
The K has direct ignition.
The oversized valves in the built B's are the same size as the stock K valves.
The B head port/polished flows about as well as a stock K head.
Do we even want to get into crank/girdle design?
You can bolt a K20 head on a 2.4L block and have DD reliability and torque that an all motor B can only dream about.
How many cars run 9's all motor with B's?
Multiple cars are running 9's with all motor K's in them, including one with 350whp.
The B hasn't been in production since MY01. The more motors that get blown, the more that get trapped under the hoods of ricer show cars, the harder they will be to come by.
The K is in virtually every Honda/Acura line. More cars are being produced, more are being wrecked, and more K's are available for swaps.
In summary:
K > B
No offense to the B enthusiasts, I love the B, but the K is the future.

You're right. The swap is pricey. You often have to get a radiator, header, harness, Hondata, fuel system, crossmember, etc all at once for it to work.
With a B swap you can basically use all the stock components and make it work.

For some reason, I don't like that VW bay at all. Lost all shape an contour with that metal monstrosity in there. I like the smoothed ones with the OEM metal MUCH better.
IMO, something like this, KIIILLLLLSSSS he blue one:

/\ /\ /\ Now thats clean.
I think the blue one is a little over the top for my taste. I thought he'd atleast tuck the booster/MC since he was doing all that work. It must be DD cuz he kept the wipers too.
